Mixtures and Solutions

For the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on the differences between mixtures and solutions. We have discussed properties of matter such as solubility and made saturated solutions with salt and citric acid.

Thinking back on what we have done for the last few weeks, what information do you think was MOST important to remember?

Did you learn anything new?

yes because i didn't know that citric acid weights more than salt

  2. Ka-lea,

Citric acid is more soluble than salt, therefore there were more grams that dissolved. It is not necessarily heavier.

  3. i learned that when you put grams of something like salt or citric acid
into 50 ml of water it takes a little while to make a solute.I have a question though if you dont put 50 ml of water exactly does i make a difference

yes i learned that mass takes up space and citric acid weights more than salt.

  5. Olivia,

The more water you have, the more solute you can dissolve!

  6. Morgan,

That the universal solution is water.Because it is mostly used to make a solution.
